Dr. Kinisha Patel

She is the first Paediatric gastroenterologist and hepatologist in Gujarat who is a trained liver transplant physician. Dr. Kinisha Patel has completed her MD Paediatrics in 2017 from Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Pune under the guidance of Dr. Sharad Agarkhedkar. She has done her observership in the department of Paediatric Gastroenterology at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital under Dr. Vishnu Biradar.

She has completed her extensive training in Paediatric Gastroenterology & hepatology – fellowship of ISPGHAN under the leadership of Dr. Ashish Bavdekar from K.E.M Hospital, Pune in 2019. Further she has also completed her fellowship training for paediatric hepatology and paediatric liver transplantation- in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology from Dr. Rela institute & Medical Centre, Chennai under leadership of Dr. Naresh Shanmugam in 2020.

Experience

She got appropriate experience in diagnosing and managing of liver, gastrointestinal and nutritional problems of neonatal to 18 years old children. As children’s disease conditions are unique than adults so she caters management of below given conditions:

  • Unexplained jaundice in neonates & children
  • Unexplained hepatomegaly/raised transaminases/ascites
  • Acute liver failure

Dr. Kinisha has expertise in doing liver biopsies and endoscopies (diagnostic & therapeutic) in children.

She has been treating more than 100 critical children with advanced liver disease condition pre and post liver transplantation period at Dr. Rela institute. We have a successful pediatric liver transplant programme at our centre.
